Job summary

The Salvation Army thrift store in Norfolk is seeking a part-time Retail Associate to support daily operations. Shifts are available Monday through Saturday, with two time windows and a $15.00 per hour pay rate.

You will stock merchandise, assist with pricing, operate the cash register, and maintain a clean store environment. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED; retail or cashier experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required (Retail/cash register experience preferred but not required).
• Basic computer skills and ability to access payroll/timekeeping via web system.
• English speaking/writing ability preferred.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Keep shelves and clothing racks full and organized to promote sales.
• Assist management with pricing items for sale as needed.
• Process merchandise efficiently following established standards.
• Stock racks, shelves, counters or tables daily.
• Learn and train on the processing system including cash register.
• Maintain a clean store environment including shelves, counters and tables.
• Provide good customer service by being polite, prompt and courteous.
• All other duties as assigned.
