Job summary

Roof Above is seeking a part-time Tenant Support Specialist in Charlotte, NC to help manage daily operations at Forest Point Place. You will serve as a bridge between program staff and residents, communicating services and expectations to tenants as needed.

The role emphasizes safety, de-escalation, and coordination of care, supporting housing programs while upholding Roof Above’s values. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with people experiencing homelessness, mental illness, or substance use challenges.
• Knowledge of Housing First philosophy and Harm Reduction model.

Responsibilities

• Monitor facility grounds, activities, tenants, and guests via surveillance to ensure safety.
• Complete hourly building tours of tenant hallways and common areas.
• Engage tenants about building rules and report violations to program leaders.
• Assist with social service delivery and coordination of care (e.g., upcoming appointments, locating tenants).
• Ensure tenants and guests sign in/out per policy; assist with unit lockouts.
• Respond to emergencies and oversee security and safety systems; document incidents.
