Sturdy Savings Bank is seeking a Regular Part-Time Service Representative in Ocean City, NJ. The role involves performing checking and savings account transactions, loan processing, check cashing, mail handling, and maintaining customer records with accuracy.

The position emphasizes friendly customer service, cross-selling opportunities, and balancing daily cash totals while supporting the branch with daily activity. A high school diploma is required, with cash handling experience preferred.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience preferred with handling/counting currency and coin.
• Ability to graciously serve the needs of all customers and, at times, work under pressure.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the public and get along well with co-workers.
• Must show maturity and common sense, since there is a high possibility of loss through error in handling cash or accepting a bad check.
• Ability to operate calculator, teller terminal, and check scanner.
• Knowledge of negotiability of instruments as applicable to items presented for encashment or deposit.
• Must possess an aptitude for figures.
• Knowledge and understanding of various types of bank services available to the customers.
• Present a professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly service to all customers, processing checking and savings accounts, loan transactions, check cashing, and processing mail.
• Maintain account records and ensure accuracy of daily transactions.
• Balance each day’s transactions and verify cash totals; assist with balancing branch daily activities and totals.
• Cross-sell bank services to customers and uphold high quality service standards.
