The University of California seeks an on-site IT support technician to provide technical information, support, and assistance for campus hardware, software, audio visual and network systems in a classroom environment.
Responsibilities include installing and repairing equipment, maintaining inventory and licensing, and advising on IT projects with a focus on long-term department goals. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
The position will provide technical information, support, advice and assistance for campus wide computer hardware, software, audio visual and network systems. Required to work on site to modify, install, clean and repair computer software and hardware, peripherals, printers, and audio visual equipment in a classroom environment. Maintain and improve equipment and software inventory and licensing. Must have excellent communication and problem solving skills. Participate and provide knowledgeable input and advice on IT projects with the thought of long range goals of the department and college.

A. Climbing. Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized.

N. Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
O. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
The employee is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach; performs tasks of a non-repetitive nature, such as technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc.
