Job summary

Passaic County Community College invites applications for a Technical Assistant, Adult Education (PT) in Paterson, NJ. The position provides technical, administrative, data management, and operational support for the Adult Education Department.

Key responsibilities include intake, enrollment, testing coordination, data entry, and maintaining program records. The successful candidate will support instructors, staff, and students while ensuring confidentiality and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in higher education, adult education, workforce development, or related administrative environment.
• Experience with databases, student information systems, data-management systems, or similar platforms.
• Experience with an integrated student information system, preferably Ellucian Colleague.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Strong organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, meet deadlines in a fast-paced educational setting.
• Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle student/program records.
• BEST Plus certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
• Ability to work some evening and weekend hours as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily intake, registration, enrollment, and maintenance of student records.
• Assist students, staff, and public by phone, email, or in person with information on programs and procedures.
• Assist BEST Plus testing including scheduling, logistics, data entry, and records.
• Work with LACES/LiteracyPro data system for enrollment, demographics, assessments, attendance, and outcomes.
• Perform data entry and maintain program records across college information systems.
