JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Department of Supply Chain and Information Systems at Penn State University Park invites applications for one part‑time teaching assistant to start in fall 2026. The successful candidate will assist Dr. Wael Jabr for 15 hours per week during the academic semester.

Job Duties:

Work on solving problems using languages such as Python and SQL. Specifically, the work involves using MySQL as well as running existing Python packages (i.e., review documentation, debug, evaluate...) and subsequently building on those packages. Expect to assist in writing, debugging, and proofing queries written in SQL and code written in Python.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in SQL (preferably using MySQL Workbench)
  • Good understanding of Python
  • Masters‑level student in computer science, statistics, or related discipline
  • Skilled in SQL and programming
Compensation:

Starting rate for this position is $16.00 per hour.
