Job summary

LearnWell seeks a passionate teacher to join our Toledo, OH team on a part-time basis for the school year. You will provide academic support to child and adolescent patients in a behavioral health facility, delivering daily lessons in a small classroom.

You will plan, monitor progress, communicate updates, and adapt teaching strategies to meet student needs while maintaining attendance records. The role typically serves 8–15 students with a focus on education during treatment.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited institution.
• Active Ohio Teaching License required; Substitute License not accepted.
• Comfortable working with K-12 students.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily lesson plans in a small classroom.
• Provide individualized assistance to students within a behavioral health setting.
• Regularly communicate student progress to treatment and education teams.
• Monitor teaching strategies and adjust to support student success.
• Maintain attendance and session reports with accuracy.
• Support 8–15 students in a compact classroom during treatment.

For more than 26 years, we have provided on-site educational services in hospitals, helping these school-age patients continue their education during treatment and reintegrate successfully into the classroom. Currently, we are seeking a passionate and creative teacher to join our team in Toledo, OH on a part-time basis for the school year. This unique position will involve working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to child and adolescent school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. Additionally, you will monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports. Most of our class sizes range from 8 to 15 school-age patients at any one time.

Position entails a year round, 20-hour a week commitment, Monday-Friday, 12:00pm-4:00pm.
