Job summary

LearnWell in Hartford, CT seeks a part-time teacher to support child and adolescent students in a school-based behavioral health setting.

The 20-hour/week role runs 1:00 pm–5:00 pm, Monday–Friday, focusing on delivering tailored lessons, monitoring progress, and coordinating with caregivers and staff to keep students engaged as they reintegrate into the classroom.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited institution.
• Connecticut state teaching license.
• Comfortable working with K–12 students.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily lesson plans tailored to individual student needs.
• Provide individualized assistance to students and monitor progress.
• Regularly communicate about student progress with relevant staff and caregivers as needed.
• Monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success.
• Maintain accurate attendance and session reports.
• Contribute to a positive learning environment in small class sizes (typically 8–15 students).

Overview

LearnWell is seeking a passionate and creative teacher to join our team in Hartford, CT on a part-time basis for the 2026-27 school year. You will work in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to child and adolescent students in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment. The position involves a 20-hour per week commitment, Monday–Friday, 1:00 pm–5:00 pm, in a school-based behavioral health environment. Our program serves school-age patients and aims to keep them engaged in their education during treatment and reintegration into the classroom.
