Job summary

The City of Ann Arbor is seeking a part-time swim instructor to teach swimming and water safety to children and adults. Classes run Monday–Thursday mornings and evenings, plus weekends, with a schedule not exceeding 25 hours per week.

Responsibilities include instructing students according to City standards and supervising structured class activities for small groups, while obtaining CPR/AED and First Aid within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of instructional methods for teaching swimming and water safety skills to groups and individuals.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.
• Preferred: at least one year of swim instruction experience or competitive swimming experience.

Responsibilities

• Instructs swimming and water safety skills for children and adults according to City of Ann Arbor standards.
• Responsible for the supervision of structured class activities for a small group of students.
