Lake Superior YMCA seeks an Assistant Swim Team Coach in Downtown Duluth to provide coaching for age-group swimmers in a safe, engaging environment. This part-time role supports the Head Coach with practice sessions, skill development, and positive program experiences.

You will uphold YMCA values, foster inclusivity, and help athletes connect with the YMCA community. The role emphasizes growth, certifications, and supporting diversity and equity initiatives in a team setting.

Qualifikationen

• Certified in Professional Rescuer CPR/AED OR Basic Life Support and First Aid.
• All required training/certifications as outlined by Y-USA to maintain annual coaches' registrations within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness.
• Experience working with youth and competitive teams.
• Commitment to supporting principles of equal opportunity and affirmative action to achieve a diverse work environment.
• Annually recertify in accordance with required training/certifications as outlined by Y-USA.

Aufgaben

• Conducts practices and guides skill mastery and communication with swimmers. Ensure that Y values are incorporated into programming.
• Conducts energizing, fun, safe, and educational practices. Ensures fair practice and meet experiences.
• Stays up to date on competitive swimming best practices and trends.
• Assist with the collection and organization of performance data.
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA.
• Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Able to commit to a set practice schedule and attend practices assigned.
• Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
• Fosters an inclusive environment appreciative of differences in the workplace. Meaningfully participate in and lead efforts to support the Y’s commitment to equity and diversity.
