YMCA of Greater Dayton in Huber Heights, OH is seeking an Assistant Swim Team Coach to support the Swim Team Director with training plans, practice supervision, and meet entries. This part-time, non-exempt position offers hourly pay between $12.15 and $14.58 and requires 12 months of related experience, a HS diploma or GED, CPR/AED and First Aid certifications; Lifeguard is recommended.

The role emphasizes safety, effective communication with children and guardians, and promoting aquatics

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED required.
CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certifications required; Lifeguard certification recommended but not required.
Twelve months or more of related experience required.
Knowledge of competitive swimming organizations, strokes, starts, turns, and related skills.

Responsibilities

Assist the Swim Team Director with designing and implementing a training plan, supervising swimmers and practices, preparing meet entries, and all on‑deck activities.
Assist Swim Team Director with daily practices and swim meets for other groups on a regular basis.
Assist the Swim Team Director with administrative duties related to meet and practice schedules, travel, accommodation, planning and other areas as assigned.
Maintain control of swimmer behavior and communicate any behavioral issues to parents/guardians.
Ensure adherence to scheduled practices and pool safety rules.
