YMCA of Greater Dayton in Englewood, OH seeks an Assistant Swim Team Coach for the Kleptz YMCA. This part-time, non-exempt role involves coaching program participants and adhering to YMCA USA guidelines for competitive swimming.

The position requires 12 months of related experience, HS diploma or GED, and CPR/AED/First Aid. Lifeguard certification is recommended. Be prepared to work on deck and assist with meets and practice planning.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED required.
CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and a current Lifeguard certification is recommended but not required.
Twelve months or more of related experience required.
Must possess quality knowledge of competitive swimming organizations, strokes, starts, turns, and other related skills.

Responsibilities

Assist the Swim Team Director with a training plan, supervise swimmers and practices, prepare meet entries, and all on-deck activities.
Assist with daily practices and swim meets for other groups on a regular basis.
Assist with administrative duties related to meet and practice schedules, travel, accommodation, planning and other areas as assigned.
Maintain control of swimmer behavior and communicate issues to parents/guardians.
Ensure safety by enforcing pool rules and guidelines.
