Job summary

YMCA of Central Stark County is looking for an Assistant Swim Team Coach to support the Head Coach and help develop competitive swimmers. This part-time role involves attending practices and meets and working closely with young athletes to build skills and teamwork.

Ideal candidates bring strong leadership, communication skills, and current YMCA safety certifications. The position offers 6-10 hours weekly with a starting wage of $11.00–$12.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Background and knowledge in competitive aquatics.
• Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
• Ability to work with and motivate swimmers at practices and meets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with Head Coach, swimmers, parents and YMCA staff.
• Current YMCA v6 lifeguard, BLS, Emergency Oxygen Administration, other certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Attend regular practices as scheduled by head coach.
• Approximately 6-10 hours a week.
• Attend YMCA dual meets as needed.
• Assist Head Coach in planning swim meets and other team activities.
• Other duties as directed by the Head Coach.
