Job summary

Requirements include being at least 16, current CPR, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Certification, plus reliable attendance. Compensation ranges $12.00 - $14.00 per hour; on-site location in Tulsa area.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
• Current CPR, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively with participants of all ages.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, engaging, and effective swim instruction following YMCA lesson plans.
• Maintain constant supervision of participants to ensure safety.
• Demonstrate and teach progressive swim skills with proper technique.
• Enforce pool safety rules and respond to emergencies.
• Build positive relationships with participants, parents, and coworkers.
• Accurately track participant progress and attendance.
• Maintain current certifications and complete trainings.
• Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings as required.
• Adhere to abuse prevention policies and report concerns.
