Qualifications

• Six months related swim instruction experience preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• 15 years old may be considered for a Swim Instructor Assistant

Responsibilities

• Lead swim instruction sessions in accordance with YMCA standards.
• Ensure safety by enforcing pool rules and guidelines.
• Demonstrate and professionally train participants.
• Set up and store equipment for sessions.
• Take attendance at each class and start/end on time.
• Provide excellent member service and promote aquatics programs.
• Communicate concerns to supervisor and suggest facility improvements.
• Know and implement the Emergency Action Plan (EAP).
• Complete incident/accident reports as required.
• Learn and use members' names during interactions.
