Job summary

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking a Part-time Instructor in Surgical Technology for the Reno area. The role involves teaching SRGT courses to meet the catalog objectives, preparing course outlines, and managing classes and exams across lab, clinical, and didactic components.

Responsibilities include coordinating attendance, grading, and student progress, with office hours and site visits as needed.

Qualifications

• Current, surgical technology-specific credential accredited by NCCA – CST/TS-C or CRCST with HSPA.
• 1 year OR scrub experience or Sterile Processing Technician, or 2 years as instructor in surgical technology.
• Ability to teach lab, clinical and didactic SRGT courses.
• Ability to travel to clinical sites for evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Meet all classes at the scheduled time, place and duration.
• Teach courses per catalog descriptions and course outlines to meet objectives.
• Provide a course outline at course start including goals, content and textbooks.
• Explain attendance, exams, grading, and final grade requirements.
• Describe office hours and appointment procedures.
• Convey other requirements needed to meet course objectives.
• Periodically inform students of progress and evaluate progress toward objectives.
• Prepare and administer examinations and final exams measuring objectives.
• Assign grades to students.
