Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a qualified Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team in a 20-hour-per-week day shift with a rotating schedule and on-call responsibilities. The ST will assist the surgical team, prepare instruments, maintain aseptic technique, and participate in quality initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program.
• Licensure/Certification: Certification preferred; must obtain certification within one month of hire.
• Skills/Abilities: Demonstrates the ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizational standards.
• Experience: Greater than one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists and collaborates with the Circulating nurse to set up for surgical procedures with proper instrumentation, equipment and supplies.
• Primary role is as a ST, passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon at the sterile field.
• Anticipates needs of surgical team during the procedure and provides them with proper instruments, equipment, supplies.
• Maintains sterile field and aseptic technique; handles specimens per policy.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and on-call rotations.
