Job summary

Reston Hospital Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is hiring a part-time Surgical Technologist for the OR. You will support nursing care under the RN, maintain sterile technique, and assist in surgeries in the OR suite.

Qualifications include a Surgical Technology program graduate, CST and Virginia license, and BLS within 30 days of start date. The position features day shifts on Tue and Thu 6:45am-5:15pm with 2-3 call shifts every 8 weeks, plus comprehensive benefits and a collaborative team

Qualifications

• Surgical Technology program graduate or equivalent training.
• Certified Surgical Technologist and Virginia license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Set up sterile surgical field using aseptic technique and assist in passing instruments.
• Assist circulating RN with OR setup, equipment, and patient positioning; breakdown of instrument table.
• Perform supply management duties.

This position is on day shift – Tues and Thurs 6:45am - 5:15 pm w/ 2-3 call shifts every 8 weeks.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The OR Scrub Tech/Surgical Technologist assists with the nursing care of patients under the supervision of an OR Registered Nurse and functions as a sterile scrub person caring for patients undergoing surgery within the OR suite.

• You will set up the sterile surgical field using aseptic technique, utilizing knowledge of: Human Anatomy and Physiology and the physician’s preferences for surgical instrumentation, suturing, passing, dissecting, retracting, and closing of surgical wounds.
• Assist the circulating Registered Nurse with operating room set up, equipment, and positioning of the surgical patient as well as break down of instrument table.
• You will perform supply management duties

What qualifications you will need:

• Surgical Technology Program graduate, or equivalent training (required)
• Certified Surgical Technologist and Licensed with the Commonwealth of Virginia (required)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
