Job summary

StoneSprings Hospital Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to assist with nursing care under an OR RN and to scrub for surgeries in the OR suite. The role may include assisting the circulating nurse and requires consideration of patient age-related care factors.

Requirements include BCLS within 30 days, Surgical Technician course or equivalent, Virginia Surgical Technologist license, and 2 years of OR scrubbing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Completion of Surgical Technician course or equivalent required
• Current license as Surgical Technologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Two years OR scrubbing experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists with nursing care of patients under the direct and indirect supervision of an OR Registered Nurse
• Functions as a sterile scrub person for patients undergoing surgery within the OR suite
• May assist circulating nurse under the supervision of a circulating RN; considers age-related factors in care from neonates to geriatrics

Job Summary and Qualifications

The trained Surgical Technician shall assist with the nursing care of the patient under the direct and indirect supervision of an OR Registered Nurse. The technician functions as a sterile scrub person caring for patients undergoing surgery within the OR suite. The technician may assist with duties of a circulating nurse under the immediate supervision of a circulating RN. Considers age-related factors in care, treatment, education and evaluation of patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics. Applies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately in accordance with professional standards and departmental policies and procedures

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• CompletionofSurgical Technician course or equivalent required.
• Current license as Surgical Technologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Two years OR scrubbing experience preferred.
