Job summary

Responsibilities

• May assist with duties of a circulating nurse under the immediate supervision of a circulating RN
• Considers age-related factors in care, treatment, education and evaluation of patients from neonates to geriatrics
• Applies knowledge of age-related factors according to standards and departmental policies

Job Summary And Qualifications

The trained Surgical Technician shall assist with the nursing care of the patient under the direct and indirect supervision of an OR Registered Nurse. The technician functions as a sterile scrub person caring for patients undergoing surgery within the OR suite. The technician may assist with duties of a circulating nurse under the immediate supervision of a circulating RN. Considers age-related factors in care, treatment, education and evaluation of patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics. Applies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately in accordance with professional standards and departmental policies and procedures.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Completion of Surgical Technician course or equivalent required.
• Current license as Surgical Technologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Two years OR scrubbing experience preferred.
