Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent surgical training.
• Knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical instrumentation, infection prevention, and sterilization procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room prior to procedures and ensure instruments, supplies, and equipment are ready and functioning.
• Set up and maintain the sterile field according to standards and infection prevention.
• Assist the surgeon during procedures and anticipate team needs.
• Pass instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist with surgical counts, specimen handling, and patient positioning as needed.
• Maintain sterile technique and address any breaks in sterility promptly.
• Support room turnover and equipment maintenance; report issues to the team.
