Job summary

Minnesota Women’s Care is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Surgical Technician to join our team on a part-time basis. This role supports high-quality patient care in a professional environment and involves assisting in surgical procedures while maintaining a sterile operating room.

You will prepare ORs, maintain sterile technique, assist with positioning, counts, specimen handling, and ensure smooth patient turnover in an outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent surgical training/experience.
• Knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical instrumentation, infection prevention, and sterilization procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room prior to procedures and ensure instruments, supplies, medications, and equipment are available and functioning.
• Set up and maintain the sterile field according to infection prevention and surgical standards.
• Perform surgical scrub duties and assist the surgeon throughout procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team during procedures.
• Pass instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment safely and efficiently; maintain counts.
• Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and draping as appropriate; maintain sterility throughout.
