Job summary

Illinois Bone & Joint Institute in Illinois seeks a Surgical Technologist/Surgical Assistant to support surgeons during operations, assist in the operating room, and provide pre- and post-operative patient care. The role requires completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program (or equivalent) with 2 years of experience and BLS certification within 6 months of hire.

The position is part-time (20 hours per week) with base salary options and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program or equivalent on-the-job training with at least 2 years’ experience.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during operations and surgical procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and prepare/set up equipment for procedures.
• Provide pre- and post-operative patient care under supervision of RN or physician.
• Document and communicate patient information accurately and timely.
• Demonstrate knowledge of various surgical procedures and assist with intraoperative procedures.
