Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a Part Time, 26-hour Rotating Shift Physician Assistant to join an inpatient surgical team. Under the clinical supervision of the Chief of the service line, the PA oversees and participates in the care of patients in the inpatient setting.

The Physician Assistant performs evaluations, coordinates and participates in treatment plans, monitors patient progress and documents patient care.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Physician Assistant required.
• Licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state.
• Experience as a licensed PA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in inpatient and/or procedural settings.
• Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develops plans of care and follow-up based on outcomes.
• Orders medications and writes prescriptions per policies.
• Documents admissions, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Performs bedside procedures as appropriate.
