Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, Inc. in Boston seeks an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the inpatient General Medical Service.

The PA/NP will work with attending physicians, residents, and nurses to manage patient care, develop treatment plans, document progress, and ensure smooth transitions of care. The position offers full-time hours with 12-hour day shifts and some weekend/holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Graduate level, accredited Physician Assistant program approved by AMA.
• 4 years of college education and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Board Certification by NCCPA/NCNP is required.
• Master’s or post-master’s degree in acute care/adult/family NP program (for APRN).
• Current licensure to practice in Massachusetts and required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with hospital teams to admit inpatients and coordinate care.
• Assist hospitalists and primary care attendings on rounds and treatment planning.
• Write daily progress notes and implement physician orders.
• Order, perform, and interpret laboratory tests and other examinations.
• Educate patients and families and document observations in medical records.
• Participate in QA/QI projects and ensure regulatory compliance.
