Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking a Part-time Supply Chain Associate in Chesapeake, VA to support inventory control, procurement, quoting, and sourcing. The role involves handling branch operations at 912 Professional Place, with potential flexible scheduling after onboarding and performance goals.

Responsibilities include managing inventory, processing purchase orders, backorders, pricing estimates, and coordinating resources to meet customer supply chain needs. Occasional deliveries may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet driving requirements to use a company vehicle.
• Pursuing or holding a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales or related field or have customer service or industry-related work experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities.
• Demonstrate problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making.
• Exhibit core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork.
• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages weighing 25lbs–50lbs (up to 75lbs).
• Pass the required drug screen where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Managing branch inventory levels
• Administering procurement functions, including purchase orders and backorder management
• Estimating/quoting prices and sourcing product
• Coordinating resources to respond to customer supply chain needs
• Supporting accounts receivable activities
• Making deliveries with a company vehicle as necessary
• Performing other duties as needed to ensure branch success
