Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking a part-time Supply Chain Associate in Charleston, WV to manage inventory, support procurement and quoting, and coordinate resources for customers.

The role may involve deliveries using a company vehicle and aiding accounts receivable activities. Ideal candidates will be pursuing or holding a degree in Business or Supply Chain, have strong communication and math skills, and demonstrate organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with a valid driver’s license and ability to meet driving requirements.
• Pursuing or holding a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales or related field, or related work experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Strong organizational, planning and prioritizing abilities.
• Demonstrate problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills.
• Demonstrate core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork.
• Lift, slide, carry 25–50lbs (up to 75lbs) and pass drug screen / background check as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Managing branch inventory levels.
• Administering procurement functions including purchase orders and backorder management.
• Estimating and quoting prices and sourcing products.
• Coordinating resources to respond to customer supply chain needs.
• Supporting accounts receivable activities.
• Making deliveries with a company vehicle as needed.
• Performing other duties to ensure branch success.
