Oregon State University is seeking part-time Supplemental Instruction Leaders for the Academic Success Center in Corvallis. The SI Leaders will support designated course series, participate in pedagogy training, and develop weekly study plans and activities to foster collaborative learning among students.

Successful candidates will be learning facilitators, not teachers, and will undergo extensive training prior to facilitating study tables.

Qualifikationen

• Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
• Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
• Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
• Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
• Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term
• Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
• Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term

Aufgaben

• Attend your SI Supported course, and synthesize relevant course content (~20%)
• Develop a weekly, 50-minute plan for study tables based on current course topics (~25%)
• Lead 6-7, 50-minute study tables per week, implementing best practices of collaborative learning (~40%)
• Collaborate regularly with course faculty about observations in SI (~5%)
• Weekly professional development meetings with other SI Leaders (~10%)
• Complete additional project work as needed, including peer observations and debriefs, running exam reviews and related projects
