Job summary

Mesa Public Schools seeks a Preschool Instructional Assistant - Substitute - Part Time in Mesa, AZ to support certified teachers and specialists in monitoring and instruction of students with IEPs. You will assist with daily living activities, classroom materials, and data collection while maintaining a safe, respectful environment.

Under direct supervision, you will provide 1:1 or small group support, adapt materials, and help with transitions, health care tasks, and basic clerical duties.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 60 college credit hours required at time of hire or pass the ParaPro Test provided by the district free of charge
• 6 months experience with preschool children
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience and record of effectiveness in similar roles preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver classwork/homework under teacher direction and reinforce objectives
• Assist in developing instructional materials and maintaining the classroom
• Monitor data related to academic/behavior goals using district tools
• Aid in modifying curriculum to meet individual learning needs
• Support transition across campus during arrival and dismissal
• Assist with health care tasks and personal hygiene under supervision
• Perform general clerical tasks to support the teacher and maintain student files
