Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Counselor for GEO Reentry Services LLC in Maryland to administer and score standardized substance abuse screening instruments for entrants to the department of corrections, determine ASAM-based level of care, and provide various levels of treatment.

You will conduct intake screenings, individual and group counseling, prepare written reports and treatment plans, maintain clinical charts, and assist with discharge and aftercare, working with a dedicated team and

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health and Human Services counseling field and an ADT designation OR a Bachelor's degree in related field with CAC-AD certification.
• Certified as an alcohol and drug counselor by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Ability to work a varied schedule including evenings.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administers, scores and interprets screening tools (e.g., TCU Drug Screen, TAP).
• Uses ASAM-based placement tools to determine level of care.
• Conducts intake screenings and back-end screenings for standing populations.
• Performs discharge and aftercare planning.
• Prepares written reports and maintains treatment plans.
• Maintains clinical charts per COMAR regulations.
• Participates in staffing with the team.
