Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Counselor to manage substance abuse screening and treatment in Jessup, Maryland. This role requires an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Health and Human Services or a related field, along with certification as an alcohol and drug counselor.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health and Human Services counseling field or Bachelor's degree required.
• Certified alcohol and drug counselor by Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.
• Ability to work a varied schedule including evenings.

Responsibilities

• Administers and scores standardized substance abuse screening and assessment instruments.
• Conducts individual and group counseling sessions.
• Creates and maintains individual treatment plans for participants.

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to interact professionally

Ability to work with computers

Education

Associate degree in Health and Human Services or related field
