Job summary

The GEO Group, through GEO Reentry Services LLC, seeks a Counselor in Maryland to administer and score substance abuse screening tools and provide ASAM-based treatment planning. You will conduct intake assessments, deliver individual and group counseling, prepare reports, and maintain compliant clinical charts.

Qualifications include an associate or bachelor’s degree in related fields with CAC-AD certification, licensure as an alcohol and drug counselor, and bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with computers and standard software used by the department.

Responsibilities

• Administers, scores and interprets screening tools (e.g., TCU Drug Screen, TAP).
• Supports ASAM-based level of care placement and treatment decisions.
• Conducts intake screenings and back-end assessments.
• Performs post-testing and data collection; interviews participants.
• Reviews DOC files and documents; maintains clinical charts per COMAR.
• Prepares reports and maintains individual treatment plans.
• Delivers individual and group counseling and participates in staffing.
• Completes discharge and aftercare planning.
