Job summary

Our Lady Star of the Sea School in Solomons, Maryland is hiring a part-time Resource Aide. The role reports to the Principal and offers 20–29 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The position pays $17.90 per hour and requires supporting students and teachers in a positive learning environment.

The candidate should understand developmental practices and be able to work independently or with classroom staff, ensuring confidentiality and student safety at all times.

Qualifications

• Understanding of instructional and developmental practices for students.
• Ability to work with students with varying needs to achieve educational objectives.
• Ability to work independently and under direction of teachers.
• Organize tasks and manage time effectively; communicate with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the acquisition of knowledge, development, and progress of students.
• Provides individual and small-group support to students under the direction of classroom teachers.
• Assists students with classwork, organization, and reinforcement of skills taught in the classroom.
• Supports classroom teachers in maintaining a positive, organized, and productive learning environment.
• Works collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to support academic and developmental needs.
• Assists with teacher-directed accommodations, interventions, and student support strategies.
• Encourages appropriate student behavior and reinforces classroom and school expectations.
• Serves as a positive role model for students.
• Invests in well-being, health, and safety of students.
• Assists with supervision during classrooms, transitions, lunch, recess, arrival, and dismissal.
• Follows school procedures and confidentiality policies.
