Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking Part-Time Aides to supervise students during non-instructional times at North/Northwest Side location Washington D Smyser School. The role is limited to 3.75 hours per day.

Work includes supervision during lunch, recess, study halls, in-school suspensions, and student arrival/departure around the building. Requires a high school degree or GED and ability to follow written and oral instructions, plus adherence to school and district policies.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED equivalent (required)
• One year of experience in the supervision of children in an organized setting (preferred)
• Ability to work with and for school children
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to learn and follow school and district policies, procedures, and expectations.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with supervision of students during lunch and/or recess periods
• Assisting with supervision during study halls (non-instructional minutes)
• Assisting during in-school suspensions
• Assisting during student entry/exit
• Assisting in and around the school building
