Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a LifeWise vehicle driver to provide safe transportation for public school students to and from the LifeWise site. The ideal candidate is responsible and punctual, with a clean driving record and a mature Christian faith aligned with LifeWise Academy's Statement of Faith.

The position is part-time and non-exempt (hourly). Responsibilities include transporting students, obeying traffic laws, maintaining bus safety, performing inspections, refueling, and creating a safe

Qualifications

• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in a local church whose doctrine aligns with the Statement of Faith.
• Regular driver’s license with at least three years continuous licensure.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) for vehicles seating more than 15.
• 15-passenger van requires no special license.
• Age 21–80 years; over 75 requires extra documentation annually.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in the last five years.
• Background check through LifeWise Academy.
• Annual Physician's Statement for known medical conditions.
• Drug/alcohol testing pre-employment, annually, and after incidents.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular inspections of the bus.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children.
• Enforce safety rules for students.
• Assist students entering or exiting the vehicle.
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor.
• Be aware of which students need help or are misbehaving.
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if agreed upon with the Director.
