Job summary

Blue Ridge Community College is hiring a part-time Student Activities & Recreation Support Specialist to help create an engaging campus experience for our students. This role blends administrative support, event coordination, and direct student interaction.

The successful candidate will manage procurement processes, help plan and execute student-centered events, and serve as a welcoming, reliable point of contact for students.

Qualifications

• Outstanding customer service experience with demonstrated ability to interface with technology.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and constituencies to assist prospective students.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills including flexibility and prioritization, attention to detail, and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement processes for Student Activities/Rec Center.
• Help plan and execute student-centered events from concept to completion.
• Serve as a welcoming, reliable point of contact for students through hands-on customer service.
• Provide coverage at the Recreation Center as needed (must be available Monday-Thursday until 6:00 PM, as needed).
