Blue Ridge Community College is seeking a part-time Student Activities & Recreation Support Specialist to help create an engaging campus experience. The role blends administrative support, event coordination, and direct student interaction.

The successful candidate will support procurement processes, plan events from idea to completion, and serve as a friendly first point of contact for students. This position is limited to 1500 hours per year with no benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement processes for Student Activities/Rec Center.

  • Serve as a welcoming, reliable point of contact for students through hands-on customer service.
  • Provide coverage at the Recreation Center as needed (Mon–Thu until 6:00 PM, as needed).

Blue Ridge Community College is hiring a part-time Student Activities & Recreation Support Specialist to help create an engaging campus experience for our students. This role blends administrative support, event coordination, and direct student interaction. The successful candidate will:

  • Manage procurement processes for Student Activities/Rec Center.
  • Help plan and execute student-centered events from concept to completion.
  • Serve as a welcoming, reliable point of contact for students through hands-on customer service.
  • Provide coverage at the Recreation Center as needed (must be available Monday–Thursday until 6:00 PM, as needed).

This is a part-time, wage position, limited to 1500 hours within a 12-month period, with no benefits. There is potential eligibility for educational assistance for BRCC classes and job-related training and/or certifications.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
