Job summary

Dollar Tree in Terrell, TX is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and support team development. You will assist with merchandise, organize stock, and ensure store standards while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for customers and associates.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, applying directives, and supervising and training store associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions/concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping including payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness, bathrooms, floors, and overall presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
