Job summary

Varley is seeking a Store Operations Assistant to support stockroom processes, replenish the shop floor, and assist with inventory accuracy. The role focuses on maintaining organized stock areas, accurate labeling, and timely response to internal stock requests.

You will work as part of a flexible team, handling manual stockroom tasks, assisting with seasonal stock, and ensuring product availability for customers in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Previous retail, stockroom, or warehouse experience preferred but not essential.
• Comfortable with manual handling and fast-paced environments.
• Basic experience with POS or inventory systems is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail and organisation.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently.
• Good time management and reliability.
• Strong team player with clear communication skills.
• Adaptable and quick to learn.
• Physically capable of stockroom tasks.
• Fully flexible, including availability for weekends, peak seasons, and changing business demands.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unpack, and process deliveries accurately and safely.
• Keep stockroom clean, organised and safe.
• Label, tag, and store products correctly.
• Follow stockroom procedures and seasonal reorganisation.
• Replenish shop floor aligned with sales priorities.
• Flag shortages or high-demand items to the Store Operations Lead.
• Support cycle counts, stock checks and stock takes.
• Highlight space constraints or slow-moving stock.
• Identify and report damaged stock and prepare for returns or write-offs.
• Monitor supply levels and assist with deliveries and unpacking.
