Job summary

Family Dollar in Millersport, OH is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development in a part-time role. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandise flow, payroll and scheduling, while upholding safety and company policies.

The position offers opportunities to train Store Associates and contribute to a positive, fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Support Store Manager in training and developing Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store and restrooms; ensure neat and presentable areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
