Job summary

Dollar Tree is hiring an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in Hinesville, GA. You will assist with day-to-day activities, merchandise flow, and staff supervision to ensure a safe, friendly environment.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, payroll and scheduling tasks, and maintaining stockrooms and displays. The role emphasizes strong communication, customer focus, and problem-solving in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and fixtures and ensure store standards.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
