Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help lead associates, organize merchandise, and ensure clean, well-stocked floors aligned with company standards.

The role emphasizes strong communication, problem solving, and a hands-on approach in a fast-paced retail environment. You will assist with opening/closing, payroll records, scheduling, and loss prevention while maintaining a safe, friendly store

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform repetitive lifting; total store duties require physical stamina.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; customer service oriented.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment; strong problem solving and decision making.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers with questions or concerns in a positive manner.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect assets, including store cash, and follow safety policies.
• Help supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness, bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall appearance.
• Other duties as assigned.
