Job summary

Family Dollar in Bowling Green, KY is seeking a part-time Store Manager to oversee day-to-day store operations and lead the store team. The ideal candidate will have retail management experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to lift and move merchandise as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and moving.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives including inventory, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain fixtures and displays and keep the store neat and presentable.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and loss prevention.
• Protect store assets including cash and security.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with professional interactions.
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, floors, and stockroom.
• Other duties as assigned*.
