Job summary

Cochise College seeks a Part-time Senior STEM Tutor to provide tutoring in STEM subjects, lead workshops, and assist students with homework, problem solving and test prep, both in person and online. Senior tutors may run the Math Lab in the supervisor’s absence.

Applicants should have an associate degree in a related field, prefer a math/physics/chemistry/CS focus, and prior experience tutoring adults. Strong communication and familiarity with Office tools are essential; some evening/weekend

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a related field required.
• Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or Computer Science preferred.
• Prior experience teaching or tutoring adult students preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students individually or in groups to review STEM concepts and prepare for tests.
• Assist with math lab management when needed.
• Provide input on learning materials and tutoring policies.
• Conduct workshops and assist with homework and test preparation.
• Maintain the Math Lab in the supervisor’s absence.
