Job summary

Snapology is seeking part-time instructors to teach STEM programs to children aged 2–14. You will promote creativity, teamwork, and problem solving while upholding Snapology’s professional standards and active-learning approach.

You will lead groups of up to 24 students, monitor behavior, and prepare by reviewing curriculum. You will also engage with parents and participate in training sessions and staff meetings.

Qualifications

• Criminal and Child Clearances must be current.
• 2+ years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment (preferred).
• Education degree or teaching experience recommended; teachers or pursuing a degree in education will be considered.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Proven ability to report to work regularly and on time.

Responsibilities

• Lead groups of up to 24 students through curriculum-guided activities.
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
• Manage student behavior by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
• Maintain discipline according to Snapology's rules and disciplinary systems.
• Encourage and monitor individual student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos, and/or participating in training sessions.
• Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs.
• Encourage enrollment of students in future Snapology programs.
• Participate in periodic Snapology training and staff meetings.
