Job summary

Lakeland Hills YMCA seeks a STEM Instructor for part‑time work in Mountain Lakes, NJ. You will lead hands‑on coding and 3D design classes for children aged 6–12, fostering creativity and problem‑solving in a supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities include delivering project‑based lessons, preparing materials, tracking progress, and ensuring safety and inclusivity in the classroom, with opportunities for growth within YMCA programs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience working with children ages 6–12.
• Knowledge of basic coding concepts and educational coding platforms.
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Willingness to learn 3D modeling/design software.
• Ability to pass a background screening.

Responsibilities

• Lead beginner, intermediate, and advanced coding and 3D design classes.
• Deliver project‑based STEM lessons that are fun, engaging, and age‑appropriate.
• Support student learning through classroom management, encouragement, and individualized instruction.
• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and classroom technology.
• Track attendance and student progress.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive learning environment.
• Follow YMCA policies, safety procedures, and child protection guidelines.
