Job summary

YMCA seeks a part-time STEM Instructor to lead hands-on coding and 3D design classes for children aged 6–12 at 100 Fanny Road, Mountain Lakes, NJ. You will create engaging lessons, foster curiosity, and help students build confidence in technology.

Ideal candidates are 18+, with classroom experience, knowledge of basic coding concepts, strong communication, and openness to learn 3D modeling software. CPR/First Aid certification and background screening may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience working with children ages 6–12.
• Knowledge of basic coding concepts and educational coding platforms.
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Willingness to learn 3D modeling/design software.
• Ability to pass a background screening.

Responsibilities

• Lead beginner, intermediate, and advanced coding and 3D design classes.
• Deliver project-based STEM lessons that are engaging and age-appropriate.
• Support student learning through classroom management and individualized instruction.
• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and classroom technology.
• Track attendance and student progress.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive learning environment.
• Follow YMCA policies, safety procedures, and child protection guidelines.
