Job summary

Built by Me, a STEM enrichment company in Scotch Plains, NJ, seeks energetic part-time tutors for after-school and weekend sessions. You will lead small groups (≤10), foster an inclusive, hands-on learning environment, and inspire kids to explore robotics, coding, math, design, and art.

Ideal candidates have experience with children, reliable transportation, and excellent verbal and written communication. Flexible weekday evenings (4–7 pm) and Saturdays (9 am–12 pm) are required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with kids.
• Availability on weekdays 4-7 pm and Saturdays 9 am-12 pm.
• Driver’s license and reliable transportation is a plus (mileage paid).
• Interest in robotics, coding, math, design, communications, video, music, and art.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High emotional intelligence and a creative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Work with small groups of children, no more than 10.
• Create an inclusive and safe learning environment.
• Assist with STEM activities and hands-on projects.
• Engage students to speak and write in their authentic voice.

Built by Me is a STEM enrichment company. We offer a variety of STEM classes and workshops to children in grades 1-8. Our goal is to teach kids to use technology to create and explore. All of our programs are interactive, collaborative, hands‑on, project‑based, and focused on using technology to create and learn new skills while having fun!
