Job summary

Young STEAMers is seeking experienced educators to teach hands-on STEAM classes for students aged 4-14 across the San Francisco Bay Area. We provide lesson plans, slides, worksheets, materials, and training.

Instructors join a mission-driven team, work at partner sites, and enjoy a flexible, part-time afternoon schedule while helping children explore science through creative activities.

Qualifications

• Classroom experience with children ages 4-14.
• Experience as a teacher, substitute teacher, after-school educator, or youth-program leader is preferred.
• Interest or experience in science, technology, engineering, art, math, or education.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging, hands-on STEAM lessons for students ages 4 -14
• Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
• Encourage curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and confidence
• Follow provided lesson plans while adapting instruction to students’ needs
• Prepare for each lesson by completing the required training
• Communicate professionally with Young STEAMers staff and site partners
• Work collaboratively with a co-instructor when assigned
• Serve as a positive role model for students
