Job summary

First After School Care (FASC) in Springfield, MA is seeking a Part-time After School Educator to supervise and engage K–8 students in a STEAM-focused program. You will plan age-appropriate activities and foster a safe, positive learning environment after school hours.

Candidates should have an Associate degree or higher and 3+ years in child care or education, with MA EEC background check, orientation, and First Aid/CPR.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 20 years old.
• Associate degree (2-year college) or higher, preferably in Education or Child Development.
• Minimum 3 years in child care, education, or related field.
• Massachusetts EEC Background Record Check (BRC) clearance required.
• Complete EEC orientation and training.
• First Aid and CPR certification or plan to obtain within required timeframe.
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage students in a safe, positive environment.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate educational and enrichment activities.
• Support STEAM activities: science, technology, engineering, art, math.
• Follow daily program schedule and ensure safety.
• Support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Assist with vacation programs and special activities.

• Maintain clean, organized learning spaces and safe practices.
• Communicate professionally with families and coworkers.
• Maintain EEC documentation and training throughout employment.
